The Connection between Abandoned Buildings and Homeless People 2005

.....
Ecologists study the environment and how it changes. Our class decided to look into some problems in the environment of New York City: abandoned buildings and homeless people – buildings without people and people without buildings.
.....
First we interviewed four people who work with abandoned buildings and homeless people in New York City. To understand how old buildings can be remodeled and other housing issues, we spoke with Carmen Vasquez at Hope Community Inc. and Nellie Hester Bailey at Harlem Tenants Council. Then we interviewed Kristen Simpson at the NYC Department of Homeless Services and Lindsay Davis at Coaltion for the Homeless.
.....
After that, we transcribed the interviews, took pictures, made collages, drew maps, studied what we found, and discussed our thoughts. We want our project to provide information for those who can use this information to do something different.
